I took a photo of this card I took out of a salvaged PC a while ago but I'm not really sure exactly what it is. I know it's made by ATI and it has somethng to do with audio/video... and it fits into the small PCI-E slots on the motherboard. Can anybody provide some information so I can make some use of this card, or at least know what it is? Thanks.. any info would be greatly appreciated.

It is a card based on the ATi Theater 550 Pro. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with Windows 7 due to compatibility issues between the chipset and the OS. In fact, none of the ATi TV tuner cards or adapters with a chipset older than the Theater 600 series are compatible with Windows 7. Therefore, you're stuck with Windows XP or Vista with that card.

In addition, if you are going to use that card under Windows Vista, you will need third-party TV tuner/PVR software (unless your version of Vista is Home Premium or Ultimate, which comes with Windows Media Center) in addition to the drivers. This is because many of these ATi TV tuner cards come with Catalyst Media Center software that has never been fully updated since its initial release, which works only on Windows XP.

You've never used a TV tuner before?:confused:

Well, you can connect your Cable TV to your PC and watch it there, or you can connect your video camera to it via the yellow socket.

If you have any family videos on VHS, you can connect your VCR and convert it into an AVI (or VCD, DVD, whatever)
 
I found an unmarked TV Wonder some time ago; but I couldn't find the proper software to run it under XP MCE so I gave it to a friend.
