This is where I will be putting all of my pictuers, and stuff for my new computer.
Here's what I'll be starting with:

Lian-Li PC-61 - Silver
ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe
Athlon Mobile 2500+
1GB Kingston HyperX Dual Channel PC-3200
ATI Radeon 9600XT
40 GB IDE Hard Drive
52x CD-RW Drive

Here's what I am going to buy for the system:

-PURCHASED- 2x 12" UV CCFL
-PURCHASED- 4x 80mm UV Reactive w/ UV LED's (Orange) Case fans
-PURCHASED- 2x UV Reactive (Orange) Rounded IDE Cables
-PURCHASED- UV Reactive Spray Paint (Orange) for the chassis
-PURCHASED- Custom Etched window from HyperKore.com
-PURCHASED- Evercool WC-202 WaterCooling System
-PURCHASED- Orange UV Dye for the water
-PURCHASED- Arctic Cooling VGA cooler for the 9600XT
-PURCHASED- Orange LEDs to light the window

Here is my current to do list:

Get all the parts! (ALL PURCHASED, WAITING ON UPS!)
Put LEDs in the window, making the etch glow
Put the Fans in the system, 2 in front, 1 on top, and 1 on the raditator (in back)
Spray the entire chassis with the UV Paint
Mount the UV lights inside the case, out of view from the window
Mount the Arctic Cooler on the Video card, possibly paint it with UV Paint
Fix previous case owners blowhole, and cover with custom fan grill
Put hole + mesh in above the WC-202 so the air exaust can excape
Work on front of case

I'll post as many pics as I can when I get to work on all of this.

How about making it look like the fortress at the end of the first level of Contra?

How about screening Mad Dog or Scorpion on the side for a simple mod? OR, put an LCD in the drive bays and actually run a looped demo video (or record the whole damn thing all the way through) of at LEAST the Arctic level (one of the best video game levels of all time). Maybe make the case LOOK like the original Konami packaging. Oh, and etch or cut out some arrows in the U,U,D,D,<,>,B,A,Start code pattern.

PERFECT! I'm working on this for sure! I've found out how/where to get the stuff I need to make it. And I'm going to start on it tonight.

For those that don't know what it looks like:

The guns on the front will hopefully be HDD and NIC activity LED's...and the big red button on the bottom, thats gonna be the power button

Looks like we're about to find out if all those people who said a home-built premod would be well accepted and praised here are correct. Can't wait :) Should be VERY interesting.

Interesting conundrum you pose...if it's homemade, is it a premod?

you know, i was wondering the exact same thing....just didnt want to make myself look dumb if i mis-read it....

but yea, its not a premod...im doing it all myself. only thing "pre" about it is the Lian-LI PC-61 that i'm using for a base.

Nope, if it's home-made, it's definately not a premod. I was refering more to a home-made computer with premod looks.

It's been a slow-coming process, but the parts are starting to arrive this week.

And everything looks great so far!

I gotta find a camera so I can start taking pics....if anyone wants to send me one (to borrow), that's cool w/ me!

Got everything hooked up...just getting it all together and working now.

Here's my problem...

My LCD on the WC-202 reads "-L"

Everything is working, I'm getting good temps (checking it via BIOS)...but the LCD reads -L.

There is nothing in the manual about Troubleshooting, or anything to begin to show me where to look for the problem.

If anyone else has seen this problem, or knows what it might mean...PLEASE help me.

I can't wait to see some progress on this case. Contra is my favorite game of all time (I still play it to this day). The crazy difficulty level makes it all the better.

Some ideas for the case:
- You could put in a case window with an etch of the two soldiers holding their oversized guns. The title screen has a good shot of this.
- Since one character wears red and the other wears blue, you could use red and blue LEDs to light up the case.
- IMO, the two coolest looking enemies in the game are the "angels" from the Base II boss fight and the alien from the final boss fight. You could somehow incorporate their designs in the case.
- You may want to incorporate some organic elements into the case also as the game's first and third levels take place in the jungle.

Just some ideas. Good luck and have fun modding :)

we get pics as soon as i find a camera

the etched window from hyperkore.com is exactly what you described...

it has the word Contra, and below that are the 2 guys....8-bit style!

im still looking for ways to get the outside of the case modded...since its a Lian-Li, painting is a bitch, but i dont know what else i can do...

pics will come soon, i hope.

I was planning on doing a mod like this but i could not figure out how to get started. Contra is my favorite game of all time. So far it sounds like you have a plan and i hope it works out for you. :)

dammit i need a camera...ive got the side panel on, with the etched window....OMFG ITS BEAUTIFUL

Anyways, here's what i've got the system doing:

Athlon 2500+ Mobile @ 3200+ speed
9600XT stock 499/297 @ 550/340

It runs VERY nice :)

If anyone can accept pictures via their phone, and wants me to try sending them the picture...i can try. never gotten it to work before, tho.

The long awaited pics are here....

Not much has been done to the outside of the case yet, but here are the pics so far...

ahahah dude thats fuckin sick! I love contra! up up down down left right left right b a start!!1!1!one, is that a sticker or is it etching? if that is etching you are god!

it is etching, but i didnt do it...lol

www.hyperkore.com

they will do ANYTHING you want. VERY reasonable prices, too ($47 or so shipped)

and NecessaryEvil: I'm still trying to figure out what to do w/ the front of the system.

a PSOne screen might go into the 3x 3.5" bays...looping Contra :D

it looks alright its not as cool as a modded PIA Cube.... but hey it still look ok... thanks to me...and you need to fix your sig... 52x CD-rom isnt correct its a TDK 52X CD-rw :D

Took another picture...here it is w/ lights out.

Fans, cables, and water are all ORANGE, NOT PINK!

finally getting back to my case after a long hiatus (sp)

im looking into more options for the front. i still want to do that fortress look, but im not sure how to get it to line up with the drive bays, and such. also, the bottom of it would cover my 2 intake fans...which could be a problem as well.

if anyone has any suggestions on what to do w/ the front, im all ears..but i think i have a few plans as it is...so here's hoping!

Here is a shot of your grill, I wish the lighting was a bit better, but it was starting to get dark when I snapped this.
