Ok these are my temps without overclocking,

CPU Tempature - 79ºC/174ºF
System Tempature - 37ºC/98ºF
CPU Fan Speed - 4821 Usually above 4500
vCore - 1.371
+3.3v - 3.384v
+5.0v - 5.082v
+12.0v - 11.762
+5VSB - 5.082

I really need some help in reading this info. Im assuming the 79ºc/174ºf mean that 174 is the max that temp the CPU can hit? IE, The current temp is 79 of a possible 174...?

Im not a moron im just new to overclocking, so please help me on the road to PC TECH!

your voltages are fine have you looked to see if your cpu heat sink is on good? if its the p4 E or the one that has 1mg of cache then your temps are a little high my friends temps with his p4 E was at 160F and your system temp is fine.

Im 99% sure the heatsink is on properly. It wont fit any other way on the motherboard except for one. Maybe i should get a new heatsink/fan? If so which company and fan/heatsink model would you recommend?

What kind of thermal paste are you using, and how did you apply it?

lol, the first number is your temperature in Celsius as depicted by the big C after it, and the second number is your temperature in Fahrenhiet(spelling?) as depicted by the big F after it. :D

damn, and I thought my temps were insane. I'm starting to think that my motherboard sensor might be off, and you might just want to take a look at that. maybe perhaps.

Omg when i opened my pc to check the heatsink it was loose. It must have come loose cause i didnt put it on properly. Dumb me ! Anyway my temp is currently at 54 and my proc is oc'ed to 3.60ghz @ 240FSB 1.4v (is that safe?!?). Its still a bit hot but better than 80!! Im gonna buy a new fan/heatsink, WHAT DO YOU PC GENIUSES RECOMMEND!?

Hey guys was just wondering i just started to overclock tonight
at 1 mhz increasements.
My rig is a P4 3.0E raised to like 3.4E now
Someone suggest before that i should lock my hardrive down "first off lock your agp/pci bus at 66/33 or your Hard drive will be farked" Not sure how to lock down. Can someone tell me a simple explaination.

As well my vcore i didn't touch all i did was increased the FSB on my cpu =)
is that fine?
only raised it by 2 mhz higher. SO my FSB is like 203 now

Spike23, Check whether you motherboard has a pci/agp/ide lock. if yes then you don't need to worry. If the motherboard doesn't lock the pci/agp frequencies then when you oc your fsb it overclocks the pci and agp bus as well, that's bad
