Swiftech Storm
PolarFlo TT Acrylic gpu
77Bonn heatercore
Iwaki MD20RZT

Idle Temp: 32c
Load Temp: 40c

My only caveat with this new system is that the iwaki pump gets extremely hot. so hot that it would burn you if you left your hand on it. I put a 120 in front of it and it seems to help the situation some, but I bet my temps would be better if i had an external box.

Just thought I'd show off ;)

Are you sure you need to use that 90* elbow on the bottom? Try to avoid using that elbow, or if there's no way the tubing alone will fit, use a copper 45* sweep elbow for much less flow resistance. Your temps are great, but you shouldn't have that much of a temp difference between idle & load. Did you apply AS5 correctly & tighten the mounting screw correctly? Otherwise, sweet setup, and happy water cooling :)

Is it common for these type of pumps to run this hot? Seems way to hot to have in a computer much less having it try and cool your cpu. If it creates so much heat that it burn your hand to the touch then I only wonder what its doing to the water. That might be why you see such a difference in idle vs load temps.

Get another pump. One that doesnt involve installing an oven in your case.

EDIT: btw grats on your setup :)

that iwaki is about the best pump you can get for any application, let alone a watercooling system. it has 23 feet of head. two 90 degree bends are not killing the flow enough to matter.

this morning im thinking that the problem with my load temps is that i live in friggin phoenix arizona where its 115 degrees outside all day long. whatever heat the pump is transferring into the water is easily being dissipated by the radiator. the ambient heat from the pump sure doesnt help though.

at 6am my temps are:

29c idle
37c load

I'm wondering how you mounted the radiator. I have the same case and was looking for ideas.

haha its not the most elegant solution, but since my heatercore just barely fits in the front (about a mm of space on either side) those black clips actually hold it in place.

i wouldnt be carrying it around without securing it, but then again, the stacker isnt really meant to be mobile. ;)

Wow! Nice setup. A storm AND an Iwaki! What fans do you have on that Bonne?

What's the ambient temp inside your room? 115F = 46C!!! Even with that outside temp though, it sounds like your CPU block might not be making good enough contact. Or the AS5 just hasn't set in yet. What are your GPU temps?

BTW, my mom is moving to a place near Phoenix soon! I think it might be in Tuscon, or between Tuscon and Phoenix. (I'm not sure b/c I live in South Carolina :p)

ambient temp in the office is probably ~80c with the ac on. i have been kind of concerned about the block not making good contact, and may try removing the tension limiters that swiftech included with the block.

oh, and the fans are 90cfm sunons @ 7v.

You mean 90F ? 80c is 176F

I'm sure its 176F with the AC on. ;)

Nice looking setup there man. How much did that iwaki set you back?

250 bucks

>_< $20 less than my whole watercooling system.

In AZ you need powerful stuff to keep cool though. :p

Can you elaborate on what you did to get the rade into your stacker? I was considering a stacker for my 120.2 rad build, but I don't want to do any drilling, etc..

if you are using the thermochill HE 120.2, what i did will probably not work for you. The 77 bonneville heatercore just *barely* fits in the 5 1/4 bay. when i pushed it in past the black plastic tabs that hold the optical drives, it just kind of stuck. so i left it there.

unfortunately, the thermochill radiator is a lot narrower than the heatercore im using, and im pretty sure you would have to find some way of securing it. putting 2 120mm holes in the top would probably work best.

Nah I didn't mean the thermochill. I was considering either the DD Heatercore (a 77 Bonneville) or a Black Ice Pro 2. By 120.2 I just meant a 120mm x2 rad, no particular brand.
