My store.exe uses over 600mb of ram. Should I worry?

I am getting Critical Alerts in my Sever log.

"The store.exe process is allocating more memory than usual.

Check to see if you are having problems with e-mail. If so, stop and then restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.

You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad."

We are not having any email problems that I am aware of. Is this normal? What should I do?

We are running:

"Operating System: Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003 for Small Business Server Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz, Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
Frequency: 2.8 GHz, 2.8 GHz
Amount of RAM: 3071 MB"

Exchange has a tendency to take as much ram as it can. Having store.exe use 600mb is not unusual, especially if you have 3gb in the machine.

On machines with 1GB of ram it will still sometimes use up to 500MB. It is completely normal. I would change the threshold of that alert to something much larger than its default, such as 1.5GB of memory.

Been using about that much since this server was initially setup running Exchange 2000.
