Well i have this zalman 7000 that i wanna stick on my p4 socket 478 @ 2.6c and i forgot how to tkae off the HSF! I cant find my instructions anywhere and i dont wanna yank it off in fear of messing it up anyone show me how to do it?

Theres 2 handles on the heatsink, pull them up at the same time, then twist the heatsink off.

Also, im looking at the temperatures on my ABIT IS7-E mobo, and with this new zalman 7000 AlCu installed, its at 48 C idle and 61 C load. I heard that ABIT mobo's read temperatures high, is this true, and how much higher do they read? (case feels slightly cooler tho so i know its wrokin good)

Ive always used Abit boards but not yours in particular. They have read up to +10C over. Its my experience that pretty well every, whether Abit or other, boards onboard temp sensors suck badly and read way off.

What would be ur best guess as to the minimum temperature it would over read as (like 6C minimum and up to 10-12C etc. something like that)

I heard they range from about 7C-11C over.

I'm using a 7000cu and my temps are 41C idle and 56C load at 1.625v. I'm running an ic7 max3 board, and the temps do seem a bit off. At 56C, the fins are barely even warm, where I should really feel it dissipating all the heat.

But 48C is still rather high even with the margin of 10C for an idle temp.
