yeah I finally decided I had to replace my old 21"crt monitor with this new lcd monitor... having only read one review ( at the time that was all there was) it looked like the best 24" lcd I could find.

So anyway i buy the lcd from USA.. I live in the UK.. paid way more than i should have due to VAT and import duty.. royally fucked.. but it eventually got to my house. And everything was great using it in windows, graphics, movies...then I tried it out on css and other games..

Well all I can say is this Samsung 244t is your worst nightmare if you're into gaming.. its awful.. input lag is terrible.

anyway now I have another problem that has developed.. it seems i might have a faulty lcd panel as there is little strip about 3cm going from top to bottom near the right hand side of monitor that depening on what is being displayed near that strip, it goes either blue or yellow.. its not always noticable and appears only if the colours near it are a greyish colour.. either way its very distracting, another thing is that it only appears after about 20mins of having the lcd on :( I will be contacting Sumsung Uk and hope they can replace it even though the lcd is an import from America.. i hope they do or i'm totally fucked

anyway thought I post this just to let ppl know as I sure as hell wish there were more reviews of this monitor when I was looking to buy one.

A picture of it.. (sure does look great despite its many flaws)

I've been very pleased with Samsung panels in the past, you probably just got a lemon, it also got shipped an unusally long way by who? some online retailer.

Why didn't you purcahse in the UK to avoid all those fees.

yeah the only retailer that had the lcd here was one which has a bad name for itself... so bad that i decided to take my business to another county.. that and you can only find grey versions of it,

so I got it off an ebay seller, was a good deal until it reached UK customs

I had a sammy 244t and I sent it back because the input lag was so bad I wanted to stab myself in the eyes. I took a big hit with the 15% restocking fee and the 40 bucks to ship it back with insurance. I dont really know what I am going to do for a monitor now.

I had the exact same stripe problem with my Samsung 940b, I called Samsung and I got a replacement and this one is much better. BTW, I figured out that I could fix the stripe temporarily by putting clamp on the panel where the stripe ends (not the screen).

I like 244t very much (Samsung 244T have very good colour.)and I got it yesterday, but its input lag is horrendous.
What can I do now?Have the way to reduce input lag?

Yeah, sorry folks, input lagon the 244T is a well documented problem. Frankly, it's a joke that Samsung are shipping the model with such an obvious problem.

Also, for the guy that asked - there's nothing you can do to solve the problem short of trading the 244T for a different monitor.

I must be the only one that doesn't experience input lags and I play games like bf2 and graw and raven shield, but thats another topic. as to the thread starter, I had the EXACT same problem in the EXACT same area. bought mine in silver which looks a lot better than black imo from pagecomputer for 1300, a couple of weeks ago, discovered the yellowish strip towards the right side, going from top to bottom about an inch wide, but it only shows in certain background colors. called cs after about a min on the phone doing self tests to make sure its not my vid card, he said he'll replace mine for a brand new one because its less than 90 days. I said great, called me back 2 days later saying its not in stock, they can either refund, or for me to wait. being that I was itching to get an lcdtv, I opted for the refund. now THAT my friends, is customer service. its not even like I PAID THEM for the monitor and they're willing to give me a full refund including shipping that I paid and offer to pick up my old monitor up free of charge. moral? just call them up and tell them the issue and have it resolved, and if you feel the input lag is too much for games, get a refund and get something else.

I have a 244T and have never experienced any sort of input lag...

Or maybe I do not know what you guys are talking about ;)

I run Windows & Games with VSync forced to on.

1920x1200x32@60Hz

DVI-I in digital mode

I even set my video card BIOS to always show a 1:1 pixel for pixel image no matter what resolution (as long as it is <= 1920x1200).

So what is the problem you guys are noticing?

EDIT: I also have the latest DirectX, latest ForceWare drivers & latest Monitor driver installed. Not to mention all other drivers, firmware, BIOS revisions, patches, etc.

I myself just purchased a Samsung Syncmaster 940B from Tigerdirect.com yesterday due to my NEC 19" CRT having problems with it's vertical hold unfrotunetly. So this is my first LCD panel ever owned and wow I have to say I am very impressed with this LCD's performance in gaming and for desktop apps. For $299.99 plus of course the $17.99 for the DVI cable this is a great deal I think for LCD displays these days. :)

As for input lag from what some of you are describing I havnt noticed any of that in my games like Doom3. HL2, UT2004, WOW as of yet. I play all my games at native res 1280x1024 75hz and use a DVI cable connected to a EVGA 7800GT. This 940B LCD was manufactured in May of 2006 incase any are curious.

Somebody post that video of quake iii being played in dual screen mode with a crt that shows the input lag pretty well. It's pretty obvious to notice your mouse movements not instantly translating to the screen movements. I can't very well find the link.

PS. This isn't about 204B. That monitor is a TN panel. The input lag issue centers around PVA overdrive.

Aah now I see what your getting at now and yeah I can see were that can be a pain in the rear for multiplayer FPS games now. :(

Maybe you are luck. What colour your 244t is?
My 244t-in black is very lag.

i dont see how this makes a diff, but most people that experienced lag have the blk version, i had the silver one, don't know about other people.

Mine is black. I watched those videos, and if that is happening to me, I sure do not notice it. I mainly play MMOs, but I do have Half Life 2 and it runs very smooth IMHO...though I would not consider myself a hardcore FPS player.
