Here's my system in the order it's connected:
Innovatek HPPS Plus 12V pump
Inno iCool Rev4 CPU block
Inno Cool-o-matic Rev3 Chipset block
Inno cool-o-matic rev2 GPU block
Inno 12V pump (original design)
BIP radiator
AquaComputer aquabox reservior
I had both pumps connected to an old AT style power supply for easy on/off. I was having trouble bleeding the loop since that aquabox isn't designed with a fillport so I probably turned the pumps on and off a dozen times or so. There were lots of air bubbles traveling through the loop but I didn't think the pumps were starved for water long enough to do any permanent damage. I eventually got the loop blead and everything looked to be running good. I was at the point to leave the system run for 24hr for a leak test when the PS suddenly turned off. After some investigation, I found that the Inno 12V pump (original design) had shorted out.
No, it wasn't because water got on it either.
Anyway, I've used that pump as the only one for ~2.5 years now so I'm wondering if I killed the pump or if it died of natural causes. The system looked like it was working great with the two pumps in series but I don't want to do that again if it means killing another pump. Is the pump design not made for this application? The electronic board for the pump used a small transformer instead of the newer ones that just use transistors. Not sure if that had anything to do with it.
