I just got a 2.8ghz prescott, and a cooler master Jet 4 (and of course, arctic silver 5). What kind of temps hsould i be getting? mine seem high, but I know Prescotts are hotter to begin with, but i'm getting like 51c IDLE...what do you suggest?

Everyday I come here I see atleast two posts about this.. don't you people understand that Prescotts run hot..

Prescotts run hot. This is normal for them. There thermal specs allow for it. If your system isn't running poorly due to processor throttling and your system is stable, don't worry about it.

The Intel processors have built in thermal protection to throttle the CPU down to lower clock speeds in order to prevent damage. At stock speeds I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

You could find a buyer for that I am sure. But really I don't think the heat is too much of an issue as long as you have decent cooling and you have no additional problems with the machine.

ok... PRESSCOTS RUN HOT!!! this should be posted at the top, for the 5 billion people that ask this every day... they are hot, and slow...like a slug that's being fried...
