My PC vs a Mac?

Hey guys,

Lately ive been torn between keeping my PC or getting a Macbook Retina/iMac (first world problems).

Love the OSX OS and have an iPhone 5. Saw a retina screen on a Mac and absolutely loved it.

These are my PC specs:

Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite White
CPU: Intel Core i5 3470 CPU
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G43
Memory: Corsair XMS3 CMX16GX3M2A1600C11 16GB 2X8GB DDR3-1600
Video card: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3GB
Hard drives: 1 ADATA 120GB SSD + 500GB SEAGATE SATA
Power supply: Corsair TX750 V2 750W PSU |
Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition
Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Black Edition 3500 Gaming Mouse
Monitor: Crossover 27Q LED (imported from Korea - uses the same display as the Apple Thunderbolt Display)

My most recent upgrade is the monitor. I also own Audio Engine A5+ speakers. I love my setup and wanted to know your thoughts of any upgrade potential or if a Mac is even worth getting when you have a PC setup like this!

Specs should have nothing to do with your preference of operating system. You're interacting with software, not hardware. If you like the way OS X works, then use it.

And you don't have to choose. Keep your gaming PC and get a Mac to go with it if the Mac can fit into the way you use computing devices.
 
With that being said, it's basically just a software difference these days. Without including the price of the package between a PC and Mac, since Mac runs on "PC" hardware these days.

If you stick with the PC, the one thing I would upgrade would be the SSD since your current SSD is crap. I would recommend the Samsung 840, Samsung 840 Pro, Crucial M4, Plextor M5S, and Plextor M5P series.

As for what to go with, what are you doing with the PC anyway?
 
I thought I would use my PC for PC gaming but I am getting too old for it and not as interested as I used to be.

I use my PC for work use mostly

Don't really care to upgrade SSD - it's fast for me and works great

Well, what exactly is your work use?

If it just involves web browsing or word processing use, then honestly just go with whatever environment you're most comfortable with and are willing to pay for.

Yeah it's still a low quality SSD that's bound to have problems sooner or later.
 
precisely. It all boils down to if you like OSX or Windows and how much gaming or performance you want out of it.

If you are a big gamer, personally PC is the way to go.
