Talk about bad timing and that's my story. Just yesterday, my computer started acting up really badly. For some reason, it would boot up until the boot of entering the Windows platform and just display a blank screen. It wouldn't even get into Windows, so I know it's not a video driver issue. I tried running the repair console and fixed my boot sector. Now when I attempt to start it up, it doesn't even get past the 4th line of the CPU label in displaying the initial bootup screen. I am perplexed in what to do, as I already manually reset the jumper for the BIOS hoping it would fix it. Any thoughts on how to save my RAID volume?

My system:

Abit IC-7 with BIOS 21
Pentium 4 2.4c
Powercolor 9700 Pro
(2) Maxtor 6Y0M120 HD's in RAID-0 (My Windows Active Partition is on here)
Other non-important stuff
Running Windows XP Professional with SP2

If you have another vid card.. I'd try it.

I had an old TNT2 that would boot up past the loading windows XP screen.. and then the screen would get distorted real bad until I rebooted. Did the same thing over and over and over. Eventually wouldn't even dispay video on startup.

Worth a shot.

Also make sure you're getting sufficient power to your PC via the power supply.
 
Well, I told you it isn't the video driver because I've seen what happens with a bad driver. As I previously stated, WINDOWS DOES NOT LOAD. A bad video driver would require Windows to actually load or else you would never see anything on the screen at any time. This has to do with a bad BIOS I think, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this particular issue and solved it without flashing the BIOS.
