OK my rig got stolen last week.
It was a 2.4C @ 3.2
A-bit IS7-e
RADEON 9600
Cousrair XMS 3200
LiteOn 52X32X52
Logitec wireless duo
DVD drive
blah blah blah
I was wondering if persay I get insurnce money, ifI should basically keep the same rig, get a couple newthings, or something.
Also I waswondering if there was any like anti-theift devices I could install. Like a homing device orsoemthin that continually says "You stole my stuff now die" really loud.
Any ideas?

yes there are. you need to get a large, very large server case and mod it to have a small cage inside. then punch some small holes in the side of the case (breathing holes). Now get a large net and catch an irish midget with it. then place him inside continually feeding him so as to not let your security system die. not many people will steal a computer that swears and drinks it under the table:D

Get a faster CPU if you can or a new mobo such as the IC7-G or AI7.

And one way to better prepare for a theft is to record all the identifying marks of your hardware.
 
put a car alarm in it!

when you get up to go to the bathroom when at a lan just activate it. make that cool sound /werc werk:D

It would be kinda weird having a car horn and car headlights/taillights in a PC. o.o
 
Step one: Find out who did it
Step two: Report them to the police
Step three: Make fun of him just out of arm's reach of the bars
 
Could get it so you have to use a USB key to use the computer.

I would think there's something out there that could broadcast an IP based on a hardware ID when it's hooked back up to the net. Might be what that software above does.
 
Build a case out of concrete. There was someone who did this with an empty case, filled it with concrete and left it on his porch. He lived in the ghetto and someone did steal it, but prior he knew people had tried, but didn't succeed, because it moved a few feet overnight a few times. I think it weighed something like 300 pounds.

That sucks though, hopefully insurance covers it all.
