While I am at work I can send an outgoing email with my own domain email with Outlook Express by using mail.mydomain.com as the outgoing server.

At home my only choice is dial-up but to send an outgoing email why do I have to use my service providers outgoing email server? (Verizon) Why can't I simply use mail.mydomain.com for outgoing on dial-up too?

Yup, that is probably the case. Spam is bad and local providers will want you to send mail through their server. However you should still be able to use [email protected], they shouldn't be stopping that.

That's a bummer. I need to send an email through my mail server to report spam to the spam filter server.

I will have to send what I can while I am at work then.
