It can't seem to run any of my games in windowed mode. My old 6600GTs did it great. When I do it with this card it turn's into a slide show that halts my entire computer practically.

Used mine and my GFs machines with the same game...hers can handle it fine, mine cant.

Its a fresh install of windows and I do windows reloads 3-4 times a day at work.

No ideas?

I dont think that the clock switches to the 3d speeds unless it is in full screen, thats just what I think.

The problem most likely is CCC switching to 2D speeds when you run windowed mode. You can get around this by using the ATi Overclocker utility and manually clocking your card to 3D speeds when running games in windowed mode.

Correct. CCC, for all intensive purposes, is one of the most inept graphics card utilities ever created. Get the ATI Overclocker and you should be set.

OK, guys. Let's figure this out here. Even with the 2D clocks, everything should run OK (not as great as in 3D mode, but still good) because it's not like it's downclocking to like 100 MHz during 2D use, LOL.

Yeah, even at 2d settings its still the same clocks as my 6600gts. And its a much bigger card after that anyway.

its because its not switching into 3d mode, or at least i think, and so its not getting enough voltage to run 3d apps, try using ATI tool to oc / raise voltages manually then run it again
it should be fine
