MY new X1900XTX help?

I just got my new X1900XTX and the CC says its running at 500Mhz! Whats up with that does it only bump up when it need its? Or does anyone know a program that might be more helpfull on telling me whats going on?
 
What your seeing is just the 2D clocks since your not running a 3D application. ATI is using a new process that switches the clocks depending on the application detected.

Yeah, and the ATI process of switching clocks is clunky and ineffective compared to the nVidia one.
 
AFAIK, Nvidia desktop cards run full speed all the time, but also have less power consumption than X1xx chips, so it's nearly a wash. Correct me if I'm wrong.

nVidia cards also switch clocks from 2D to 3D. Or at least my 7800 GTX did.

Certainly will : nVidia have had 2d/3d clock switching since the 6 series ;)
