i have recently aquired a Northwood P4 3.06Ghz HT CPU, it's a good overclocker and has some really nice Geil Ultra Platinum PC4400 DDR memory installed on a Asus P4C800 Deluxe mobo

problem is it still has the stock cooler on it and i plan to overclock it pretty far

so i was looking at the XP-90 HSF for $29

any suggestions? I don't want to have to remove the board from the system to install the cooling, otherwise i would have gotten the XP-90C

i once had a XP-120, but it's size puts me off when the XP-90 can perform nearly as well and any of them would be an improvement over the stock cooler, man that thing gets hot even running at stock speed right now

anyone with such a setup have any specific recommendations as well?

thanks

is my new system too old now to get good advice?:D

guess i will just go with the XP-90, i know it's not a bad decision, but i wanted to make a better one if a better one was out there, i have been out of the loop as far as overclocking and such goes, only using a PC for surfing and work, i just want to make the most out of my newly built system is all..

XP-90 should be allright for a Northwood, although an XP-120 (or something w/ 120mm fan) would be better.
