Looks good, the only thing I would change is that cd burner ... theres no sense in gettinga cd burner these days .... just get a DVD burner, they can be had for as low as $50, and dual layer DVD burners as low as $70. They burn cds as well, so for an extra $30 on the cost of a plain old CD burner, you're getting the ability to burn DVDs, much more sensible in my eyes.

Also, the amount of time you took to type this post is about equivalent to the amount of time it would have taken to learn about how to build a computer (its really not that hard, its like a hybrid between lego and nintendo cartridges (to 'install' a video card requires almost exactly the same amount of work as inserting a SNES game into its console)). Its your call I guess, just dont come here telling us you dont have time, you do :).

I do not exactly agree with that ^.

It might not be hard, but rather "risky." For example- You try to insert the CPU the wrong way and bend the pin by accident. Or you connect the power cables incorrectly. Also, if your building a PC you dont have the warranty. If say something is working incorrectly, you can't just send back the whole PC. You have to take time and figure it out. Of course building your own PC is cool- but at the same time risky (especially if you do not really know what you are doing.) Sometimes it's just easier to buy a custom one.

The Company im buying from (www.wired2fire.co.uk) are putting it all together, optimizing it and running a 24 Hour continuious 3Dmark03 Stress test...

Thats another reason i got them to build it...

all in all i did pay a few £££ too much but i reality im paying for the stuff said above.

and i know when i get it thru the door it will be a working machine thats going at its potential (i know not full potential as it can be OC'd (you know what i mean) ;) )

The guys at that company have been really helpful and have answered my emals in lightning speed giving me straight answers..

I would reccomend them!!!

Nice Computer, But...

1. If the power supply came with that case...i'd get a new one ASAP!! Generic power supplies are BAD!!

2. Make sure that the case has enough cooling, if your modding it you shouldn't worry..you can add some extra fans.

Also, about your power supply make sure it is 480W, that is the minimum power requirement of the 6800 ultra oc 256mb

Why do i all a sudden find this to be a shameless plug for a website

Well its not, I feel i got Good Service from this company and they seem to know what they were talking about.. I find it hard to find anywhere really in the UK that gives this level of service and well im just reccommending them soo others can go somewhere reliable...

As For the power supply its been upped to a 525w because of the GPU sorry i should have put that in

Still not sure what to do with the case yet tho... Are Fans on top of the PC adviceable??!!?? And would this PC need any type of 'Crazy' Cooling On this site??

Cheers

its a good computer and form what you say from a good company. And if they give you the warranties and service you sya they will you should not have a problem.

ok i have to coment on the case. I hate them and their clones (probably all made from the same company) the power supply quality is one of the worst ever. We had one customer it blew one a celeron system with 512mb of ram, 1 hd, 1 optical drive, and it was an fx 5600 i believe. Damn power supply took his proc with it. I wouldnt trust one of em to power a fan. Build quality on them isnt that great either, mostly sheet metal.

ok one question what brand is that 525w power supply?

other than that good basic components for a gaming system.

I dont know what Brand the New PSU is!!

Neva dawned to ask!! At the moment my new PC is just finished its Burn Tests and passed... No results of the 3dmarks as yet. :(

Will this PC run Doom III with any problems??!?? Im also thinking bout getting HL2!

yeah it will run both fine. just a question of how long the power supply will last :)

Remember a 600W PS (generic) is never the same as a brand name 350W PS (Antec, Enermax, Sparkle, Ultra Xconnect etc) but hey they are building it for you so any cold boots etc they will have to fix before giving it to you. You should ask them to run a few benchmarks in front of you before you leave the shop - 3DMark 2001, prime 95, UT2003 demos, Motherboard monitor to watch temps (burn them on a CD and take them to the shop). - assuming they let u.
I watch a few burn-ins at a few local shops here in Canada - its a joke.
Also get that DVD burner/CDRW combo you will not regret it - seems silly not to.

The Company Is Down in Surrey (300 miles south of me)

I cant really go see them lol... Have a Look at there site (Few Posts Up)

Im order number 600 and odd so they have built a few b4 mines... and ive got 1 years on site warrenty and an extra 2 years warrenty because i paid via Card (One of the Perks of having a girlfriend that works in the bank, she can get me the high Flyers accounts with goodies like that (any electical appliance bought with plastic gets 2 years extended warrenty on top of the companys :D ))

They were getting the PSU in from another company so heres to hoping its ok,,,,

Im gonna order on asap... Didnt have the cash to splash at the time :(
Sure we have all been there ;)

Cheers

Oh and i also asked today on what Bernchmark score it was getting at the moment he said its just over 11,300 but the engineer says with a few more tweeks he will have it above 12,700... Thats 3DMark03 they are using. :)

That sound good/???

Sorry for sounding like a total nOOb :(

Bear in mind that this system is not Overclocked yet....

Is this ne good guys?!... after all you are the experts!!

um it should be a hell of alot higher than that. my friend with a 3000+ and a 6800nu scores better than that. Also i score about 19900 with a 9800pro and 3.0c @ 3.6. What version of the nvidia drivers are you using? if you dont have the 66.93 try them or try some of the beta drivers

under the advanced option of settings in display properties also will show it. but yeah dxdiag under display shows the driver version.

Heres a screenie of the DXdiag screen under the Display Tab.
I got a Manual with the PC made by the company when this PC was built and it says i have 66.93 drivers... but i cant see that anywhere.
Also i cant see anywhere a OC part on the PC for the card. BUT there is a Barcode Sticker on the rear of the card that reads BFGR68256UOC

Help me Tokath you are my only saviour lol

just go to www.nvidia.com and download the latest drivers (which are 66.93), it seems easier then getting all wound up over whether you have them already or not, just download them and install them, then you'll have the most up to date drivers for sure =P

Loving the names you give to your folders puggers, I take it ahhh sh** is where you keep the screenies of all your BSOD? Tell the monkey to sort your system out, after all you do get one years warrenty on it. I think you 3dmark01/03 scores should be a lot higher, either you have a driver conflict or another bottleneck somewhere. Make wired2fire sort it for you, thats why you paid them all that cash to make it for you.
See you online dude! :)

easiest way to find out driver versions is in the hardware manager in the system utility accessible by right clicking my computer. 2k1 scores should be a lot higher ive seen scores about the same as yours with a ti4200 and an a64
