I got my new computer put together today and wanted to say thanks for the help (as well as show it off!). I absolutely love my NZXT case, everything about it rocks. All in all, everything went together well. I'm still waiting on my XArmor U9W mechical keyboard and I need to buy a new storage drive (old 320GB I had is on its way out the door). I'm waiting a week or so to get baseline performance and make sure everything is good before I go nuts with overclocking (expecting 4.5GHz+). Case cable managment turned out great, still have desk management to go tho!

Here are the specs of what I got:
NZXT Phantom
Corsair TX-750 V2
ASUS P8Z68
Intel i7-2600k
Zalman CNPS9900MAX w/ AC MX-2
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866 4GBx2
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB
PowerColor Radeon HD6970 940MHz OC
Lite-On CD/DVD burner
XArmor U9W
Dual HP 2511x Monitors

Grand Total: $2227 after rebates

yom yom yom - looks nice - maybe add another monitor down the road for some eyefinity goodness.

Red. PCB. D=

That's the only thing that throws this thing off. Epic cable management, especially for a non modular PSU. A friend of mine got the White phantom but I may like the black better.

I just built a similar system, see sig, white case.

I debated turning my Corsair 850TX V2 right side up as you did,
but in the end I felt venting that warm air downward without much clearance
would heat up the case even more, since heat rises anyways.

I actually had it in both ways...then decided upside down. (as in case diagram).

Average CPU temp is 28C to 30C, high has been 41C not OC.

Whats yours like?

Right now at idle I'm 34C (ambient temp is roughly 76F and humid). Running 3D mark I got up to low 50s, then running Prime 95 I hit 64C quickly. How hot can you run these CPUs? I'm not even overclocked yet so I may have some cooling issues to address. I still need to buy another top 200mm fan however.

Seems warm, compared to mine, YMMV.
From what I've heard, pushing it hard, you should not see anything over 70C.
After 12 hours of Prime95 I had 41C, and thats been tops, so far.

I dont have the extra 200mm top fan either, bit I did get the optional 140mm front fan.
I may get it if it really makes a difference.

Let me know.

Lolol general hardware is turning into a post ur phantoms forum... Mines red.. Maybe il get some shots of it up tonite... Our 3 rigs seem pretty sick.. Bulding a pink phantom for my girl soon

Lightbulb...maybe we need a devoted Phantom Case Review thread?

If ya got it flaunt it...:)

I just ordered the second 200mm one from Amazon for the top.

I assume that after plugging it in, then the fan controller with the double fans
will light and work.

I wonder if I did the thermal grease incorrectly. I'm using MX-2, and I put a small amount (say a fat grain of rice) on the heat spreader and then set the cooler and sucked it down with the screws.

I use a normal grain of rice then spread around with a latex glove... Always worked for me

I might try resetting it. Mx2 has 4 marks on the side which look like how much should be used but that would have been a huge amount
