i would say remove the cd burner and replace it with a dvd drive, your dvd burner will burn cds, and i would maybe up the psu to maybe the 480w model of the psu you chose

The DVD burner will play DVD's too, won't it?<--nm, answered myself

Ok, i'll look into the higher up PSU

Looks good from here as weel, but I'd definetly look into getting a bigger power supply.

look closer

Again.. will the dvd burner also play DVD's? <--nm, answered myself

Someone told me it doesn't work right to have more than 1 DVD drive... is this accurate?

What do you mean by "doesn't work right"? If you're saying 2 DVD drives will cause a computer to have instability, then that's wrong. Just make sure your jumper settings on the back of the drive are correct.

got your PM

regarding power
http://takaman.jp/D/?M=PbQAQbdHhSATKiH3kG5H5ZAZavXCMZ&english
which is theoretical (additive of all the maximums)

in addition I used the (current) PCI-E max power spec of 75W (6.25A +12V)
(there are as of yet no PCI-E 150W cards out)
whereas your likely at 63W to 68W (all on the +12V however)

a more realistic worse case senerio (post spinup with the CPU\GPU pegged) would be

combined +3.3V & +5V wattage @ 40W
+12V @ 16Amp or 192Watts

well within the capabilitues if that Antec TruepowerII (which is a dual +12V rail ATX12V v2.0 supply)
even with serious derating for temperature (the Antec rating temperature being unkniwn and as temperature increases capacity drops, its known as a derating curve)
tthat config could even be run off an older
ATX12V v1.3 Truepower

the crossload profile of an Antec Truepower 430 (ATX12V v1.3)
antez.gif

(chart by Oleg Artamonov @ Xbit Labs)

up 40 over 200 and back to zero would be your range
Id expect the TruepowerII (ATX12V v2.0 crossload profile) would be even better at least in your range
and easily within its own 3% load regulation within that range

no worries M8 ;)

Nice , All looks good as said before though look into getting a more beefy psu
even if that one is powerfull enough what about future upgrades and add-ons.

future upgrades

dual core add about 15%
AMD 64 from 7.4A up to 8.6A +12V
Prescott from 9.8A up to 11.3A +12V
next gen PCI-E 150 Watts per card via the bus (12.5A +12V) some cards might require PCI-E 150 plus auxillary power and of course SLi\Crossfire doubles everything

figure 2A +12V per drive at spinup and 1\4 that once spinning (0.5A)
same drop occurs with fans or pumps, rated amp draw will be for spinup generally

Whoa, brain anurysm. I'm relatively confused by all of that Ice Czar, but if you say that my rig would be within the scope of that PSU's operation, I'll take that for what it is. Thank you VERY much for the time put into that, it's greatly appreciated. :)

Unless you dont plan on overclocking then dont waste the money on a 3800+ Venice. Get a 3200+ Venice instead. I would get the DFI Ultra-D board instead because its a much better overclocker and has more settings you can tweak. I would go with OCZ RAM instead of Corsair because i just dont care for Corsair and their quality any more and you'll get better support with OCZ RAM and get the Hitachi T7k250 instead of the 7k250. Its the new updated version with larger platters and its faster. You can find it at ZipZoomFly. I would also go with a little bigger power supply so you dont have to worry about upgradeing. Shoot for the 480w+ models.
