So after several weeks of research and waiting, I dropped the hammer today:

Gigabyte DS3L
2x2gb OCZ PC2-6400
Antec 900 Case
Q6600 G0 2.4Ghz paired with Artic Freezer Pro 7
Lite-On DVD Burner
EVGA 8800 GTS (G92)
150 GB WD Raptor
Cooler Master Real Power Pro 750W

I got all this for a little <$1100 after rebates. Let me know what you guys think.

I think you should have gotten a better cooler to OC that Q6600.

I was thinking of originally getting the Thermalright 120 but the thing is pretty massive and at $60 it seems a bit much since I was thinking of OCing to 3.0ghz or less. I got the Arctic Freezer Pro for $10 so if I don't like it I can always switch. What do you guys think?

Each chip/case setup is different. So if you notice your temps are too high, get a better cooler.

Looks good, but I'm not sure if your familiar with the rules here.
You are not allowed to post specs of a new computer without pictures accompanying them.

:p

you couldve done with a less waltage power supply. dont know if raptors are worth it anymore either. just my opinion though. have fun with it though :D

The Freezer will have a very tough time managing temps if you're looking to overclock. A much better option would be the Zerotherm Butterfly (which can match the performance of the Thermalright Optima 90) or Nirvana (which can match the performance of the Ultra 120 Extreme.) While these are more expensive than the Freezer, they are considerably cheaper than the Thermalrights.
