yay,, received my MBP last week and I just had a question on how I can check the speed of my hard drive because I upgraded it to a 7200rpm from the 5400, does anyone know how I can find out?

you can try system profiler, click on the apple at the top of the screen, click on about this mac, and more info, then click on hard drives (when you click on more info it brings up system profiler)
 
Open it up and take it out :)

Joking of course... do what the others said, profiler will be easy enough.
