I was watching the temps on my northbridge the other nite and I decided the temps were too high. after some testing, I concluded the rad in the h2o loop was lacking so I decided to bump up the size of the heatercore.

it will take 4 120mm fans per side.

(slightly more than a little) off topic: where do you get your brazing supplies/which ones do you get/what do you braze with? my fucking waterblock leaked on my motherboard and i think it killed it (or maybe putting it in a case made it so the fans spin and the disk spins up but it does nothing, other than telling me the memory was bad - memory which, btw, runs fine at pc4000 in my brother's p4 - with 2 different chips) sorry, i'm just pissed right now.

Is that a dual pass core? If it is, that means it's going to be twice as restrictive as a normal "double" sized heatercore.

You should convert it to single pass. :D
 
Yeah, where did you get that?

I might want one for watercooling all my PCs once I get the cash to purchase a miniature 4-post rack and rackmount all my PCs and audio gear.

Would be too slick......The Lord of the Cores.....ONE CORE.....TO COOL THEM ALL!!! MUAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......

it is two separate cores - I took the tanks off, lined up the channels and brazed them back together. :)

brazing and soldering...
if you don't want to jump all the way up to brazing temps, you can use Harris' staybrite8 and get a pretty damn strong solder joint. It is generally used with stay clean flux (also from harris)

brazing -
I use 15% silver brazing rods (i.e. Stay-Silv 15).
another good option is Dynaflow.
^these generally dont require flux on copper to copper joints. if you are making a copper to stainless or copper to brass joint, Stay-Silv Flux works.

any good welding supply shop should have the stuff listed above. hvac supply stores will have both as either is used heavily in refrigeration.

home depot used to carry some brazing rods -- check for ones used on copper that melt around 1300 deg F.

the RLQO pump can blast water thru it as it is but I am going to convert it to parallel single pass later. I couldn't refuse testing this way before changing it over though. :)
