Here it is.

Budget: $1200.

Purpose: gaming and other things.

Reusing from old computer:
* Creative X-Fi sound card
* ViewSonic 1650x1080 LCD Monitor
* Keyboard

Looks pretty good, but unless you need it right now, you might as well wait for the Sandy Bridge motherboards to go back on sale and go with something like the i5-2500k ($30 more than your current CPU and should overclock very well).
 
Oh god, now I have to research this sandy bridge thing. Do they even have a lot of motherboards for sandy bridge CPU yet?
 
Ok, I did a quick research on "Sandy Bridge" 1155 motherboards and they're rarer than hen's teeth right now.

And I do need a new computer really soon.

So it looks like I'll be going with my original build.

Nope. Updated motherboards won't be out till April most likely.

Need you to answer these questions:
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? Multiple PCI-E x16 slots? etc.


But right off the bat:
- Ditch the GTX 560 TI. Unless you're using some app where Nvidia's CUDA tech is used, the GTX 560 TI is a poor buy for the money since the faster HD 6870 1GB can be had for less. Hell you can even get the even faster and really overkill for your resolution HD 6950 1GB for around that $250 price as well. So yeah, Nvidia = not a good bang for the buck value. So take a look at the HD 6870 1GB.

- Ditch that Western Digital drive since it's just as fast as this cheaper drive:
$65 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

- If buying within the week, ditch that Corsair PSU, and go with this instead:
$90 - Antec Truepower New TP-750 750W PSU

- The stock thermal paste that comes with the Hyper 212 is actually pretty good. No need for AS5 unless you plan on removing and reseating the HSF multiple times. Even if you wanted a 3rd party thermal paste, ditch the AS5 and go with these better thermal paste instead (they do not have a 200 hour curing time like AS5):
$10 - Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound
$10 - Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Compound

I plan on purchasing near the end of this month.

I don't need RAID. I don't need firewire at this time. I won't be dong crossfire or SLI. I don't have any USB 3.0 devices yet but it might be nice to have. I don't think I need SATA 6Gb/s. I am getting a SSD as you can see from the list but I don't believe that needs SATA 6Gb/s.
 
In that case, besides the four items I mentioned earlier, setup looks fine.
