Well, played with the A85 for about 20 minutes.

I like the ergonomics of my A40 a bit better. But the A85 definitely takes better pictures in auto mode in low light indoor situations. Much less grainy. (auto to auto comparison of same subjects)

Additionally, its a whole lot smaller than my A40. About 15-25%. I liked the size and heft of the A40. The A85 feels flimsier in comparison. The menu system is arranged differently, and is a bit deeper because of a number of additional features over the A40. Not sure if its harder or just different and I need to get used to it. I WAS able to access nearly all the features by just playing around, and not cracking the manual once.

The viewscreen is bigger than the A40, and a lot faster. Much less blurring and a faster framerate. And it has a speaker so you can listen to the movies you make in playback mode. Not terribly loud, but it does the job.

I just wish it felt sturdier. I guess thats one of the bennies of getting the A95 - you get a metal body with the extra megapixel and the swivel screen.

I'll let ya know how it holds up and works over the next week or so.
