I've relocated all my computers to the basement where it is cooler year round. I decided they needed a better home than this:

So me and a friend are working on something a little better and more distinguished for them:

Still have a lot of work to do with it, have 1/4" tempered glass on order for the top and for the computers to sit on inside... Putting 2 cold cathode lights each in the top and bottom of the top cabinet. Also planning on 4 lighted 120mm fans. Putting 2 in the doors and 2 in the sides near the top. Going to use an old power supply mounted near the back in the bottom of the cabinet portion to power the lights and fans.

Parts I'm waiting on:

Fans
Lights
Switches for lights and fans
Glass
Paint

i would say that you should do each comp on a tray like mashie did in his latest mod, then you can have them slide out for easy access

Would be a good idea except I'm putting them on a glass shelf so that the lights can come up from below

Looks like a good start on the mod. I might be misunderstanding your concept, but are you just putting the current cases in a bigger one? Or are you putting the components in the bigger one? I like the idea of the components better, personally.

Oh, and I have my main (and old) computer in that gray (grey?) case right now. I really love it despite its age. Very simple and boring, but straightforward and well thought out too.

I'll be sure to check in on this mod. Looks promising.
