for anyone that actually paid for the sb audigy software... i got it for free :D

i am in the middle of loading bf2 on it right now, and also using it to make this post :D

so far i am very happy with it (so far). i dont have any of the lcd leakage i kept reading about. the kb doesnt really have any noticable flex (or if it does, not enough to bother me)

woot! the bf2 1.3 patch just finished installing... gotta go :D

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

Also, nice lappy! :D

I'm thinking about getting this laptop...Does the 1200x800 res with the small screen size bother you?

Nice lappy, congrats!! :D

I see you opted to not get the integrated cam, any reason?

Did you get the integrated Wireless Broadband (either Cingular or Verizon Wireless)?

i didnt go for the integrated cam because i didnt think i would ever use it (i havent used a web cam ever) so it didnt seem worth the added cost. i didnt go the inegrated wireless broadband again because i didnt think i would ever use it.

That is a nice price! :D

yeah, i got REALLY lucky. i just happened to be looking to purchase at the right time :D

also to save a few more bucks, i decided to purchase 2x 1gb sticks pc5300 to use in my new lappy, they should arrive tomorrow at which point i will swap them out with the 2x 512mb sticks i have right now. the two original sticks are going up for sale on ebay :D i should end up savinng a few bucks....hopefully

please tell us any failings you see in it, anything that lets you down. I dont have enough money for that system, but god knows i want it.

How were you able to use a coupon on an XPS system?!

dell had them last week. i just happened to be looking for a new laptop, went on ebay to get a coupon (planning to buy an e1405), and found a 30% epp coupon that worked with xps systems :D it cost me $2.95 and saved me around $525. best money i have ever spent.

It was an error on Dell's part (from what I have heard) that the coupons worked on XPS systems, and I heard they only worked for a few hours.

You got an awesome deal on it. If I could have used the 30 percent on mine I would have gone big (which I did anyway, I got them to knock off 500)

there are always dell coupons on ebay for sale, you just kinda have to keep looking for it to spot a good one. but also, you gotta watch out for the fakes, but a lot are real, so buyer beware. and for the price you paid, that is a VERY good deal.

I got one too with the coupon, was too good of a deal to pass up!

screen size comparison between the M1210 and e1405

Wanted the M1210, but when that gentleman posted how low you could get a e1405 down to, I figured the smaller res, smaller screen, lighter weight and marginally batter battery life wasn't worth the extra $400. Went and ordered the 1405 the next day. Very happy with it. Took it out back, surfed for a bit, played Q3A for an hour, checked the battery and still an hour of life left. Ive yet to try UT2k4 on it though, which is the only game Im worried about. And the screen is planty big enough for me. Ill go 12.1 next laptop I think, but couldn't pass this deal up.

Congrats on the XPS dude, enjoy it.

And yes, the coupon worked on XPSs for just a few hours. You lucky bastard.

Can you please post some BF2 benchmarks or experience with which settings were needed to play the game smoothly? I'm considering getting a XPS m1210 in the future, but was worried the 1.66Ghz would be too slow for these games even with 2GB of memory.
