Well .. I finally got my new motherboard on the weekend (Asus A7N8X-X) to replace my ageing ECS k7s5a pro and I decided to overclock my processor a bit more. Originally I had my Xp 2000+ at 143 fsb but it was still a tad shaky on the k7s5a, however, with this new board, It just kept posting and handling everything I threw at it (5 hours of prime95 and 4 3d mark tests).

Im curently running rock stable at 166fsb on my Athlon Xp 2000+, so my question is how much further do you think this chip can go?

Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+ Tbred 'A' At 1.664v Core voltage
1x 512 ddr333 Infineon Memory @6-3-3-2.5
Asus A7N8X-X
MSI Geforce 4 Ti4600
et.etc.

Thanks.

There is no way to tell, but most of the time the highest I have seen those chips go is about 2.4GHz or so.

But keep us posted.

Well im at 2.25 Ghz now (180 fsb) and its still crunching those prime95 numbers with ease.. I assume this is good for a 2000+?

Yeah thats up there, but most of those TBred cores can make it a bit higher. But that is a nice overclock from stock, nothing to laugh at.
