is there anyway to fix this? its right in the middle of the screen!!

I got the same thing on my Apple 23" Cinema. It's a scuff in your anti-glare coating that you can't quite just patch up. Some peeps go to the extreme of removing all anti-glare with some compound (I forget, someone may know) and having none all together.

The problem with that besides it being shiny is that sometimes the anti-glare coat acts as a polarizer and removing it will make your screen utterly useless.

I am not sure either if you could apply a new anti-glare coat either. I have been trying to stay fat dumb and happy about mine and not try anything.

hey i got a 17" COMPAQ 1701 TFT of a friend cheap, anyways when i got it i noticed it had like a 4CM wide and 4 MM thick scratch in the middle of the screen, plus a smaller scratch beneath it.

Anyhow i started to scratch it with my fingernail like you would peel off a sticker, you know and it worked!

cant even see the scratches today...

lol.. why am i afraid to try that! :)

try some of that stuff that they advertise on tv for repairing your eyeglass lenses. Might be worth a shot. :)

You would think at the price level a LCD is they would come out with heavy glass screen protector. I don't see much in the way of screen protectors for LCD's.
