My internet keeps on randomly dropping

About 3-10 times a day my internet just stops working. My modem and router lights all show normal lights, but the internet just doesn't work. I have to unplug and replug both my router (which is a Linskys WRT54GS V2.0 [a little old]) and my modem (SpeedStream 5100), I am stumped on what the cause is and I don't really know how to go about diagnosing it.

My gut tells me it's the router, but I really don't know.

Any help?

Try connecting your PC directly to your modem - see if that gets rid of the problem. If not that'll rule out your router.

I have the same router and modem and have the SAME problem. Let me know if you come up with a fix.

Not while these disconnets are happening.

It seems to happen only when two or more computers in the house are using the internet at the same time

Same issues and no P2P programs running.

Try turning off DHCP and instead setup static IP addresses.
