I know Ive been bugging you guys with my constant bitching about not having the mobo/ram yet. Well, thats now fixed. (cross posted from the clean cables thread)

Been working on the wiring for a couple weeks while waiting for my laptop to sell so I could buy the mobo/ram. Mobo showed up a couple hours ago, RAM should be here tomorrow, but theres not a big difference visually with it, and I wanted to post some pics. :D

The SATA/SAS plugs arent designed for these clawed cables, I cracked the upped plug putting the connections in. Oh well, long as it works still.

Its 4GB of GSkill ram. PC3-1333, CL9, 1.5v. I should have enough OC room with it, once I bump the voltage.

Nice component selections and rig you got there.

What caught myself was the excellent cable management and space due to the room.

In the interior of a case, I look for clean cables and space.
 
not bad man, I just upped my ram to 12gb. I am still using 20% upon boot up.
 
Those cables..the colors are horrible!

And you are missing some ram.

And the stock cooler...

that poor i7... 2xGTX280 and the cpu on the same loop with only a 120.3 radiator for cooling :confused:

two 260's and temps are great, prime95 and rthdribl_1_2 all night long.. gpu's load in the 30's, low 40's highest I have seen em, cpu 63-70c is the range on the 4 cores @ 3.8ghz with HT on, these cpu's run hot. i have 3 sflex 1600rpm fans on rad, no need for a 2nd loop.. would be a waste as these cpu's run 70c by themselves in a loop.

Oh! You're running 260s. My mistake man. They run a lot less hot than their big brother. :) That's awesome you're getting good results and know how to correctly keep your CPU temps down.
 
aiyah, mid 50's *C idle running at 1.6GHz with power saving options on??? Time for a better aftermarket HSF?

Maxed at 100C when running the win assessment tool. Im concerned.
But it hasnt had any thermal cycles put on it yet either.

doox00 - make your own thread and edit that pic out, please.

I do love it so far. I wish that there was a passage behind the mobo tray from the mobo area to the drive area though. Theres not enough space for the ATX 24pin wires to pass through, which is why I had to thread it through down below. Otherwise, its pretty damn nice. A third 120 mount above would be nice as well, for a triple rad. I think theres space, but I'll have to be careful selecting a rad, and then have to mod it myself.
 
Nice job on the wiring! Are you planning to keep that stock HSF or get something like TRUE?
 
True or H2O, depending on available funds within the next couple months.
 
yeah i modified some stuff on mine and cut out the meshing stuff on the fans and built portholes out of 4inch stainless steel pipe, helped the air pump into it alot better, i routed all my cabling to the backside of the mb tray made the hole a little bigger on the tray... love how all the sata drives lineup, i also bought one of those cheap fan hubs and stuffed it in a hiding spot so all my cables except for the one to my gts are exposed love the case though scored it at fry's for 49.99 after rebate couldn't complain
 
So I decided that the temps, though the i7 runs hot, were just too high.
Reseated the HS with the tube of thermal stuff from my (now sold :/) TRUE. Results are below.


Now to bump the bclock to 166...

Still running warm, but this is the stock heatsink, nothing changed in the bios except the block and turning off turbo mode. screenshot is after at least 30 minutes (lost track of time).

I still think thats too warm, maybe Ill drop down to 3.2 or 3.0Ghz.
 
Yeah, I'd say anything in the 90's is too high.

A TRUE 120 will get those temps well below 70 at 3.3GHz. Even at 3.6GHz to 4.0GHz, the TRUE will keep it still under 70*C.

Lol i saw him post his rig and laughed, some people are just happy to post their rig.

Good rig tho, keep us posted when you get a better cooler :D
 
Be a bit. My live cashback was gonna go for water...instead its gonna get pay for 2 speeding tickets in the last week (I was specifically trying not to speed on the second one, fucking downhills...)
