here is the deal....

I have TWO (2) NON-WORKING computers at the moment...

First you should know, i have 2 AMD computers. Relevent hardware is (1) of each of the following: 3200+ AthlonXP, Lanparty ultra B, 2800+ AthlonXP, and A7N8X-E Deluxe, first and second are a pair, third and last are a pair.

Second you should know, alls i did was take off the HSF, take out the processor GENTALLY, put in the processor GENTALLY, put on the HSF like any avg computer geek does....with ease ;) (hope everyone caught the joke but this time it actually went on smooth).

Third you should know, after i turned it on and got the results below VVVdownVVV, i put the CPU's in opposite motherboards and then BOTH didn't work.

Lastly i think you should know the results 'when i do what':
1) everything is step 'right' meaning the CPU's are in the opposite mobo's like i said, hsf on, thermal stuff there right, fan plugged in, ALLLL that is good. i push the button and the 6 or so fans come on "VRRRRMMMMMMMMM" lol... and the screen doesn't come up, the POST screen, the keyboard num/caps/scroll lock buttons dont blink 2 times like usual (meaning it's posting i believe), and i DONT hear any beeping of any kind.

So i make it so all that is in the system is the mobo + power supply.....no beeping even with no ram or video or CPU...

Same Shit Different Computers.

anything needed to be explained better just post here with your question - i'm a little tired atm so that might not be the easiest to read.

First off did you hear a crunching noise with amd this is always bad.

Secondly you say you swapped cpus did you clear the cmos before you tried booting either of them?

Doesnt help. Being grounded shouldnt be an issue. Not being grounded wont hurt a thing.
 
It's possible one of the cpus had a short and it took out the motherboards when you installed it.

Doc, that seems to be the case as far as we can tell - i will simply call this a 'defective and problem causing CPU' and ask for a replacement for both the mobo's and both the CPU's for free. they will more than likely do it, newegg rocks :).

thanks for backing up what we were thinking - guess it's not just us bein silly.
