i ran into a couple problems, but i think thats all sorted now. for some reason when i first restarted my system, it went and reinstalled drivers for everything i have connected. i also couldnt get my onboard audio working correct. it took a driver update and about 30 m ins of screwing around to get that sorted out. (and im not sure i even found the true problem. when the front channels are plugged into the front channel port, both L and R play at once. swap F and R plugs at both my control pod and mobo, and everything works like it should)

now, one last thing. Xfire seems to be working fine, but i cant find any decent monitoring software for it. HWmonitor only picks up the main gpu, and gpuz seems to pick up the 2nd, but its giving odd info. things like card 1 being 256bit and card 2 only being 32bit. and CCC shows card ones gpu clocks correct, but gpu2 is showing 0/0.

Tried MSI afterburner? You should be able to monitor all that stuff in real time while you game.

You should use MSI Afterburner to monitor your cards.
Unfortunately, you can't use Afterburner to Overclock them, this is due to some AMD software conflicts........unless you disable the ULPS in the registry......reasonably complicated. CCC will always show your second card at 0 clocks, this is due to ULPS software which shuts down one card until you use CF for gaming.

I use Afterburner to monitor my cards and overclock them using the Overdrive in the CCC.
Unfortunately Overdrive limits are lame....but what are you gonna do?

Your sound conflict may be from the HDMI sound drivers in the AMD driver set, I never install them for just that reason.

Congrats and good luck.:D

exactly what the problem was. i completely forgot they even had audio drivers bundled into them.
