I was bored the other yesterday and came across an article about running osx leopard on a pc "hackintosh" so I did it, works great no hickups at all. and installed in about 17 minutes flat.
using an extra blank hd ofcoarse ;)

I've been hearing about this for a while now. Last I heard you need an Intel CPU, and mobo preferably, and the range of drivers is quite limited. What are your system specs? Would be nice to have on this system, though I'm running an AMD in here, but my server is Intel/ASUS and might have a new role in my house.

For why? For putting software on hardware that it's not designed to go onto? If you have a legal version of Leapord that's not being used (Your computer took a MAJOR dump and now you have the software but not the hardware) I don't see why it would be a major deal? It's not like he's saying to do out and get the software illegally and put it on a computer.
 
The EULA says that u cant use it on anything except macs. So yes it is technically illegal.

Trust? Yes, that's shattered... but not laws. I can't imagine Apple has laws written in every city, state and county courthouse. But I could be wrong.
 
Discussion of OSx86 and related projects has been basically snuffed out here in the past because it's a warez issue, like it or not. As the guy that released the world's first generic OSx86 installation DVD that actually worked 3 years ago this month, believe me when I say you're just asking for trouble trying to start up a discussion about this here at this forum.

No, you're correct. The EULA is an agreement and it hasn't gone through a court of law. I don't think it would stick either.

That said, man, I wish I had the extra kit lying around to throw one of these together. :)

I'm just trying to figure out how an agreement is the same thing as a law. And by breaking the EULA you are also breaking a law.

And that's the thing, you're not, not until it has gone through a court of law. Until then it is just an agreement. I'd be really curious to see what happened if it actually got that far. It isn't something that could be enforced on individuals just going in the store to pick up a shrink wrapped copy of OS X, that's for sure.
 
I mean, hell, OS X and iLife don't even have CD keys; its all on the honor system, even as far as trusting you to spend a few bucks extra for the "family" pack instead of a single computer version, or that you won't share your copy with friends who also want an upgrade (hint: most people do).

They are really lax as far as that kind of thing goes.

My old school bought 1 mac osx 10.4 disc and they installed in on 10 pcs at school and the teacher also put it on his mac at home.
 
Hmm... an OS with no CD keys, and now I read somewhere about mac being able to play directX games... Hmmm....
 
In the future so you will know....we have rules that cover this even if the individual states do not:
