The comp is finished and the H20 cooling system has just finished being designed on solid works 2003 and is going to be laser cut to the exact specs tomorrow. Keep in mind that the radiator will be placed in-between the fans and the water will be kept in the empty compartment to the left. I hope to have the whole thing done by the end of this week. I will post more pics as it progresses and OC result also.

BTW I just wanted to add this in. The cooling unit will fit flushly under my lian li, it has exactly the same base dimensions as the lian li. And will be secured with pegs going up through the case's feet holes secured with a pin going through the top of the pin. And those are 120mm fans

This should lower your Temps considerably... Post pics of finished Item, or better yet, do a worklog!

Nice work. You should get yourself a 4 port fan controller and mod it in the box to control the 4 fan of your external box.

Thats what I did, when all the fan in my box where turn down, The external unit was inaudible.

Nice work, cool to see another solidworks user as well. I just started messing around with ideas for a case using sw2004.

I got one of the 4 port rheostat controllers from PC-toys and then i striped it of its face plate and put it in a custom drilled Lian Li case cover. This way there is no ugly white writing on it. BTW i will prolly post the complete pics in the cool cases part of the forum since thats the closest to it.

Will that type of shroud work? I have almost the exact same heatercore. And 4 120's, but I really don't want to take the time to do the angle cuts to get it to angle. I'd rather just take some plexi (got plenty) and cut it, epoxy it, and call it a day.

Alright so I will do a work log on how I am building this arcylic contraption or cooling unit. Well today I went down to a local acylic vendor and had them cut out my proposed box. I had them cut it out an inch to big in all directions. This way when I have it cut by my volunteer teacher, he will already have the pieces small enough to fit in the laser cutter. But anyways hes some pics of the acrylic.

These are some pics of the rough draft cut's with the laser. The side mounted fan holes were cut by the laser. The final product will be all laser cut I also threw the 4 fans in there. They're 4 clear blue led fans that blow about 60 cfms at 27 decibels. I also threw my dangerden stuff in there.

Should I post the pics of the comp on here or should i put them in a seperate section of the forums. And explain how it was built.
It has some fans so it could be "cooling I guess"

Also should i do a recap documentary type style of the computer case and its mods if so where ??

No don't post a new thread just continue on this thread : ) I'm watching(reading) this thread... I'm about to built something like that too, just waiting to get the acrylic and buy some tools somewhere. Hmmm about the round holes do you think hole saw will work then refine it with dremel?

Oh and my rheostat controller.....

Oh, and my Stealth Job for that white 52x CD-Burner drive and the spray painted cd-rom 52x...

well i guess i will just give u a preview of the actual comp......

I will give a full overview of computer after the cooling unit log is done and the CPU is overclocked hardcore. Until then I will post more watercooling parts tommorow when i get them outta my lock box at school. And the Arcylic will be cut and returned to me by friday.

Shroud reply: I am not making a shroud. I figured have it air tight and pulling air through the radiator from both sides would be good. But i might end out making one if the temps arnt good enough but i doubt that will be the case.

Holesaw reply:
Yeah I have various 3/4 inch, 7/8th inch, 2inch and a 3 inch holes saw. They cut acylic like butter if u go slow and cover it with masking tape and besure draw out the circles it looks really good.
Mounting it and keeping it in one place is also very important. A good drill can help too. Just remember if u got to fast it will melt. Then if it was me i would sand them with like 2000grit then 3000 grit and call it good

Well I got some updates sorry it’s been about a week since I first posted this project but here’s what I have been up to.

I wasn’t quite pleased with my wiring job in my case so as u might know I ordered up a couple sleeving kits. I still was kind of ticked off though because it still looked really crowded. Well I busted into that case last night and started ripping at wires I didn’t like because of eyesores. A couple snip's and a couple drops of solder and this is what I have a much cleaner inside.

All right here’s is an update on the cooling unit. I used the old pieces I first cut out and made kind of a mock of what I am making. It’s kind of like a rough draft on an essay paper. But here’s what I did I took all the acrylic had cut on the saw and with laser and put it together. It looks like this....

Ok this is the acrylic I got for free from my school. It was left over stuff. It’s all right but it’s not very strong. That is why I went down to acrylic concepts and bought some really high quality stuff. (it’s pictured above). But this unit here gives me a overall feel as to how its going to fit and if everything is at the right dimension which it is and its looks very good other than the acrylic is very week and chips way to easy for consideration. I am going to college and it needs to be strong shit.......
Enough said originally I had planned to have this whole thing done by this weekend however it didn’t happen because of one of my relatives getting sick.

I was thinking of adding in a second radaitor that can fit to 120 mm fans so it would have barbs just slightly before the one already in there that way i could have 2. The barbs from big one would extrude out before the smaller radiator. Any ideas as to why i shouldnt do this my 4 120 mm will still fit too.

I have a feelingyou are not going to be happy with that set up. The push pull idea does not work well tih rads either.

yeah i was kinda wondering about that. Thats why i am trying to find some cheap aluminum that i could bend into a shroud to fit inbetween the acrylic and the rad.

Yup... gots ta have a shroud.
here is the one I am currently building.

It will also have a modded PSU, CCFL's, and a fan control bus.

I have 4x 120mm on my BIX2 and the 2 extra fans gave me 3 degs cooler at full speed

First
Second
The Comp

This is the proto(like a sketch). The box is going to be acrylic. You get the picture ... two 120 mm fans sucking in air from the bottom and two 120 mm exhaust sucking out the heat from the heatercores. The WC box goes on top of my comp and I might buy another 120 mm led fan at the back and put ducting thing thru the window to help cool the heatercores. So any comments?

Frozen, your setup is kinda similar to the setup I am working on. I have my case sitting on an acrylic box that houses my radiator (turned sideways with 4 fans on it, 2 intake 2exhaust) and pump/reservoir.

Well I plan on runnings a second radiator. I also have another idea that is for more show then anything but I am not sure if it will work yet.
