Hi All, This was my first attempt at overclocking an Intel CPU. After running all the tests like Prime and that I decided that this is stable. I just wonder could I get an even better Overclock. I had the CPU vcore voltage at 1.42, but lowered it to 1.36 and it was still stable. I might try lowering it to 1.3 and see is it still ok. Are any of you running at 1.3? or stock voltages and hitting 3.2Ghz? I am on air cooling, but, not a stock cooler. Overall I am very happy with the Overclock.

:cool:always nice to se people discovering the art of overclocking :)
gl&hf, and keep pushing that cpu

I seem to be one of the lucky ones, but I'm running 3.2 (1424 FSB x9 multiplier) at 1.250 volts. My temps are just under 40 at idle (65 - 75 F in the room) and crank up to about 56 - 58 when running Prime 95 v 25.5.

Watch your temps. Most people run coretemp to get accurate readings of their core temps. It's not compatable with Vista64 (there are fixes, but somewhat of a pain), so I use Speedfan. BUT speed fan reports each core 15 degrees less than actual on dual and quad cores, so make sure you adjust it.

I'm using a Zalman 9700 fan, but this was my first system build in over 4 years, so I'm sure the matching of the fan to the chip isn't as good as others have done....

I'm on a Q6600 G0 running 8x400 (3.2 GHz).
I idle in the high 30's, and load in the low 50's (after about 12 hours of Prime95), using CoreTemp 0.96.1.
Temperature in my room is about 90F.
Vcore 1.250v.

Cooled by an Ultra-120 Extreme with Noctua 1200 Fan, on top of Arctic Silver 5.
:)

Yeah, trying to keep the temps down and the voltages. I am using a scythe ninja (revb) to keep the CPU cool. Also have artic silver 5. So I guess I can try to lower the voltages somemore. Even though my temps are much the same as yours Utopia and yours Johnnl.

I got the fix for coretemp and am using that to monitor my temps.

And yes, it's very interesting doing this overclocking!!

I'm building my first OC'ed system as well. I'm have some SB heating issues though.
Mobo is Asus Maximus Formula.

Also my cores are running at:
0: 38c
1: 35c
2: 30c
3: 30c

Seems slightly odd the that 0 is running hotter than the rest but I'm figuring that is a matter of processes running through the core verse a thermal paste issue.

Here is a link to my thread about the SB heat issue, let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.
