Well, here is the CPU-Z report after cranking it up to 2.2... followed by a couple of questions.
Ok, after doing this screeny, ran 2-3-2-5(default) timings and 2-3-2-8 timings... 2-3-2-5 timings gave lower benchmarks than 2-3-2-8, as was the 2-3-2-8 slower but more stable than 2-2-2-10. Why is this?
Secondly... using CPU-Z, how much should my voltage vary while idling and at max load? Im really hesistant with this Antec450 SMARTpower... its new, but still, I havent heard the best things, this was after I bought it. Anyways, Corsair XL XMS Ram, DFI Lan party 250 UT mobo, AMD 64 3000+. Using 4 fans in case, and thermaltake silent boost fan and heatsink, 33C idle, 44 C max load. What step can I take to clock to 2.3GHz? 2.4GHz? Would it simply be adjusting timings and maybe voltage on RAM? Probably wouldnt have to on CPU eh? Maybe adjust ratio? Any help is appreciated... Ive read all the guides backwards and forwards, same with the posts... now Im looking to figure out what to do once Im started.
One last question: If I do overclock to 2.4GHz, is safe to leave my computer on overnight, game, and treat it like a normal PC? How much will my components life be shortened to, estimated of course.
Any help is appreciated, thanks so much for your help from past posts and guides, and the help I hope you supply in this thread.
