I know it's not much, but hey, it's a start. I have a couple of other boards and CPUs sitting around, but I need to get PSUs and RAM for them before they can become part of my cluster.

I don't think that laptop will return work units in time, but the other rigs should...

And welcome to the [H]orde, may you get as addicted as the rest of us.

miazmaticdotcom,

Looking great! When I first looked at the first picture, I thought it was a refrigerator! Welcome to the [H]orde.

lol its my closet, not a fridge (although thats a good cooling option once those Xboxes get in there)...

The P166 laptop cost $14,000 brand new (docking station, extra battery, carrying case, etc) in 1997. It's got to be good for something. If it doesnt make a WU, I'll switch it over to SETI or whatever.

I only have a few boxen and I'm already [H]ooked...

For the laptop, set your preferences to genome at home (gah) since that project doesn't have deadlines. The points will count towards your folding stats, but you'll do genome work units instead.

I folded all day on my iBook today, and I noticed a significant decrease in battery life, so I think I'll have to switch that over to Genome too. How can I switch both laptops over to Genome?

Welcome aboard miazmaticdotcom, glad to have you here.

You have no idea yet how addictive this can become.. with luck you will learn though;)

If you run on battery while folding, expect to see a big decrease in battery life on any laptop running any DC project(folding, genome, etc.). Since you're continuously at 100% processor usage your power management won't have any opportunity to cut power to the processor to save juice. On the laptops I have set up, I use scheduled tasks and have them set to stop when they go on battery since I don't want my users running out of battery much sooner than they expect to.

To change your preferences once you have the client set up, run it with the -config flag, which puts it into configuration mode just like it was the first time you set up the client.
