Hello

Im looking to get myself a digital camera but am havnig a hard time picking which one i want. This is gonna be my first camera and i want it to last for a while too. My roomate has a Canon A70, and thats nice. My parents saw an ad in the paper for an Olympus C60. Now im comming to you guys for even more recomendations. I have a limit of about $250 and was wondering which camera would be good for me. The Olympus or the Canon or even some other camera that i havent seen yet. thanks guys

www.dcresource.com (check the reviews out).

The Canon A70 has an excellent reputation for being a good camera.

Squeeze another $100 from somewhere and go with a Panasonic FZ3. Optical image stabilization is very nice to have (if you're as shaky as I am anyways. :p )

The Nikon Coolpix cameras are very good performers as well. I can't recall which model falls within $250. I'm more of a Canon guy, so i'd say the A70. (co-workers have them, great cameras)
