I say almost because we all know when it comes to case modding, you're never really done. :p

It's taken me awhile to get this far, I got this case a little over a year ago, but up unil recently I didn't really have the time, money (I still don't have much of that, but I'm makin do), or the know how to get much done on it.

Basically, this is what it looked like after my first round of mods almost a year ago.

*shudder*

It's gone through many stages since then, and I've got a ton of pictures along the way, but I'll just skip to the end.

Ignore the lovely blue electrical tape on the exhaust fan, I didn't notice it fell down till after I looked at the picture. Oops.

The things I'm most happy with are that:
1. I cut the x out of the window and basically started from scratch with it. I think it looks a lot better
2. I managed to get the power supply cables sleeved, which, let me tell you, was a ginormous pain in the butt, considering I broke not one, but 2 atx extraction tools in the process.
3.I did a reasonably good on my wiring. I know it could be better, but for my first case, I think I did pretty ok.

There are still some things I'd like to finish. For one, the whole case is going to get painted black. Hopefully I'll get to that within the next couple weeks. The process is pretty intimidating, but the way I figure...if I mess up, I'll just sand it down and do it again. ;)

So....thoughts? Suggestions? Any sort of feedback would be great. Just don't be too harsh, I am still kinda new at this.

Looks good for the most part in my opinion. I was wondering if you could heat up the heat shrink a little more though. It looks loose, but maybe its just the picture.

Yeah, it is a little loose, but I can't get it to shrink any more than it is without melting the sleeving. The sleeving kit I got didn't really come with enough heatshrink, so I had to conserve it more than I would've liked. I'm gonna redo the sleeving when I get some spare cash.

out of curiousity is that a 12" rounded ide cable hooked up to your cd drive? i have about the same distance to my cd drive and im wondering what length of a cable i need.

Is it my imagination or do you have a metal plate covering a portion of the bottom of your case? Covering up wires I presume?... unless my eyes are playing tricks.

I used a lighter for a while, but then used a candle. Worked really well.

That was the very first thing I tried. The lighter ended up burning the heatshrink.

The heatgun usually works pretty well. I think the problem lies in the fact that I didn't use a long enough piece of it, and the quality maybe wasn't so good.

It's actually an extra piece of plexiglass that I had leftover after I redid my window spraypainted to look like a metal plate.

very nice, i would shrink up those sleeves to if i were you, lwould look a little more tidy.

Thanks. :)
Yeah, I know, it was my first sleeving attempt, I kinda messed it up a little.

I can't decide if I want to order another sleeving kit and try it again, or just say F*ck it and wait until I can get a modular power supply.

I love the plate down at the bottem to cover up wires. Wish I could have done something like that for my accrilic. I just made little box and stuffed it full.

And your wire work is great. I might suggest changing the placement of your lights since they don't seem to be effective right there. Perhaps on the door on the X frame. Use some 6 inch tubes.

As for the heat shrink. I just was working on some maybe an hour ago..... I used my stove. (Electric) and holding it closer and closer till it worked. Looks nice, but I still ended up using electrical tape. Use what works is what I've learned.

Keep up the good work.

I don't have the X on the door anymore, I cut it out and made a new window. :p

However I have changed the lighting since then. The one running along the top of the mobo is gone, and I have another 12 inch running vertical alongside the 2 80mm fans in the back.

I'll post pics later on tonight. :)
