Don't mind the model, I threw it together because I wanted to learn how to skeletize and animation a character, so it's ideal for that; but it really sucks as far as models go, I didn't spend alot of time on it.

Anyway, does the motion look realistic? Is there anything I could improve?

It's depressing how long that took to animate ::)

try making the front right and back left move at the same time and the same for the other two legs...try getting on your hands and knees and crawling across the floor. you'll see that's what you naturally do.

keep us posted on the progress!

regards,
steve

was i the only one that tried to crawl on my hands and knees in after steve's response?

lol i fell for it.... yes but it is a natural thing.

Don't worry, it gets easyer with practice.

As for the animation, to be honest, theres not much there to judge apon. Your leg motions are good, but it all depends on what your going for. If that was a real animal there would be a lot more secondary animation. Like, even though its walking slowly, the head would bob up and down with the motions of walking, same goes for that tail that should move as well.

Keep up the good work!

Alright, I took some of your advice and reworked all of the animation.

Anyway, I'd like to think this one is alot better (in the hopes that I improve myself instead of getting worse  )

Thanks for all the comments. :)

P.S. Pistols, both the head and tail move in both animations, it's just hard to see because of the lighting and angle.

you sure that's the correct link? b/c it looks the same to me...

FFS. Good point.

Fixed it in the original post, too.

Sorry about that. :)

EDIT:

I finaly realized why everything looks fluid except the first step, it's because I made the 2 feet move and not the rest of the body. Oh well, learn from your mistakes I guess.

Very true about the first step, gotta have the body move forward with every move.

I think you've got the steps pretty close so if you really wanna make it fun, I suggest adding some secondary animations. I'd start with making the back end drop a little as each foot drop and have the base of the kneck do the same.

Overall, godd job. My opinion is that animation is the gold of CG art. Anyone can model with enough time and a picture (texturing is a different skill all together) but some people will never learn good animation for as long as they try.
