Hi all, ive just purchased a 2nd hand lian li pc75 server case which im going to mod (or at least try) for my current pc ive just built a few months ago. This is currently in a raidmax samurai 908 silver case and for my spec computer - it is rubbish in terms of cooling as everything is sealed. At least this case should be excellent for cooling due to the number of fans it can house and the size. Below is a pic of the case.

With me being at the age of 17 and my first mod, please bare with me as im still new and experimenting with the case. The first thing im going to do is create a blowhole on the top. Below is a pic to show the before:

You can see the hole saw im going to use as well which is also known as a tank saw.
After some hard cutting and nervousness lol, below is the result:

This is an dust filter which looks pretty cool and is unique as i dont think others would consider using this. This has smaller holes init which should make it stand out behind an red led fan. I will cut a small triangle in it to make the A look more like well an A really near the top part but this will be once ive completed the paint job.

Please let me know what you think so far guys and considering ive got no experience in case modding

I used a 3d sunbeam fan grill and a thermaltake fan with blue leds n a rpm sensor for fan monitoring. Below is a closer image of the blowhole:

Im not too bothered about the scratches that i incured while cutting as im going to be painting the case a black mirror gloss effect.

The next stage is for me to cut an A in the front of the case as A is the first letter of my name. This was just a wild idea that i had in my head. Then i was thinking of using some mesh or something that has a mesh effect i can find lying around in the house and placing this in the back of the A. This will then or should look cool with the two red led fans i will use at the front. Believe me this didnt look as easy as planned as the thickness of the alluminium was stronger then i thought. I have below a pic of the A i cut out which took me a while to do (the yellow is the primer paint im using so ignore that at the moment):

I then looked around my house thinking what i could use. I did have some mesh but when i placed this at the back of the A, it looked odd as the front part of the case where the A is already contains holes as this was from the design then i cam across this:

Please let me know what you think as considering i have had no experience what so ever in case modding, not much money (hardly any lol) and using what ever tools my dad has this is what ive done so far. Im in the process of painting the case at the moment which if everything goes to plan, i will post some pictures up next week or two.

the A is a lil off center but don't sweat it keep on moddin! all of us were just startin out sometime some with no tool experience either while some of us had previous experience with tools from work and other hobbies. I think you're doin a Great job. keep up with the wooklog.
Thanks.

thanks man, i realise the A is off centre, i filed it a little more the other day just to smooth it out and get the lines slightly straighter, as for allignment, it is about 1 hole out must have moved when i placed the stencil on, but you cant really tel without throughly examing it.

Also, the positive side about this is that the A is alligned with the slot below which gives it the underlined affect which i think looks cool,

keep up the work... it looks alot better than my first case mod!!! haha some of my stuff still looks aweful! guess thats what i get for unclear ideas! good thing i ruin bad cases already!
