In about an hour or so my first card from ATI will be delivered. Im moving up from a 6800nu 128mb/256bit oc'd to 400/900, should be a supprise
Any tips as to what programs to use and methods of installing drivers/programs you could all share?

Im running vista business and I have the following so far ready to install :

Driver cleaner (installed)
ATI drivers 7.1 for vista 32 bit
ATI tray tools
Rivia tuner 2.0

Also the card is a x1950 pro agp (i know problems with heat but we shall see) going into a p4 3.0 and 2gb of ddr400 ram
I also have on order a accelero cooler be here on thursday...

Thanks in advance

The only tip I'd offer is skip CCC and use 3d party tools but I see you've got that covered.

Looks like you should be good to go... You might want to look at the Omega Drivers, some people favor them over the ATI's.. But it looks like you've already done your research.

Yes sorry about the subforum thingy.. heh makes me feel like a n00b :(
Ill take a look at the omega's forgot about those.

Thanks so far

another thought is whats the amps on the 12v on your powersupply... cause this is one hungry little card.

Well its interesting and kind of dissapointing at the same time did some testing

Ran BF2 @ 1280x1024 with everything on high and 6x aa roughly 19-22fps

Tryed it again and ran it at the same resolution except with everything on low pretty much the same fps.... ODD! I might say

Goign to try a fresh reformat and ill post back. When I installed vista I just did the upgrade (wrote over windows xp) Just to see if I liked it instead of waisting time with possable 2 formats.

So I did the reformat and picked up about 5-10 fps on average... Seems like im cpu limited :(

I'm running about 1680x1050 with everything on high and 4x AA and still make around 25-30fps average.... Oh well time to look for a decent 478 mobo I can overclock on
