anyone know where i can get a new 1 cheap? i was cutting a window in the top of my case when the thing randomly died lolz. It got all hot and made a sizzeling sound.
some help would be greatly appretiated :)
 
Have you checked the motor brushes? Maybe all you need to do is put in new ones.
 
You can pick up a "Craftsman Rotory Tool" dirt-azz cheap at your local Sears. I have the 5 speed variable model, it has lasted over a year now. Go check em out.
 
before you buy a new one I would also suggest checking the brushes, they don't last forever ya know!
 
If you bought a cheap one in the first place, thats probably the reason it died......if you bought a dremel branded dremel then you probably can fix it..... Oh and if they do die, that means yer not using it right :D
 
I have broken 2 in the past. I have horrible luck with dremmels. One the damn thing stoped working a few days after i got it. And then that one stopped working about 2 months later. I took that one apart and it was the trigger system that broke. I have yet to contact dremmel and see if i can get a replacement from them. I have actualy been very disapointed with how they break so often in my hands (i am not doing anything to break them, and I have been using dremels for over 7 years). Right now I am using my brothers, And His has even stoped working in my hands. Kinda the same thing that yours did, We just took it apart cleaned it and put it back together and it works great again (why couldnt mine of been that easy to fix)

remember guys, dremels are for small jobs.........get the right tools for the job if you need reliability
 
yah dood i got a router for doing big cutting jobs such as cutting big ass windows and such also i picked up a 73mm hole saw so i can cut perfect holes for 80mm fans ill post some pix of my ghetto modded case i did in like an hour heh
 
ok screw it im lazy and dont feel like opening photoshop to resize pics
when i finaly get off my ass i might even go take a shower.... nah aint happening :)
 
well really both ... yay!! i solved my dremel delema i baught a new 1 at home dipot yay!! now i can almoast start my new case......... that is whenever i decide on which 1 to order
 
Just wondering are you going to have a memorial service for your old one??? i am sure it has treated you well... and in its time of need you were there for it and there was really nothing you could do for it.. So pull out a nice shoe box like name brand shoes Puma Nike you know... put some nice Velvet in there... give it a nice place to rest like under a shade tree.... i think it will like that... may he rest in piece :(
