My CPU temp is real high WTF?

just idle my cpu1 temp for my e6300 is 140farenheit, Im not overclocking at all, why is it so high?

BTW im using the program that came with my mobo (ETC)
 
That's pretty high, might want to try touching the heatsink on your cpu to see if it really is that hot, but don't put your hand on it too long. If it really is that hot might want to see if thermal paste is applied correctly, get a better cpu fan/cooler, check mobo settings make sure voltage is set correctly, could have a bad chip.
 
Ermm...what is that in Celsius?

Also make sure your heatsink and fan are popped in completely.
 
It was up to around 70c, took off fan reapplied some arctic silver 5 and it dropped to idle at 40c! So I guess its fine (DLd cooltemp to and I like it better)

it probably just wasnt seated right... good to hear you got it sorted out!
