My CPU is @ 71 C in Normal Windows

It is @ 71C not in games, but in normal windows usage! using stock cooler and no overclocking

is something wrong? is this too high?
 
Can you tell us what hardware you're using?

EDIT: Just seen your sig, might be worth re-sitting the heatsink with some decent paste :) Either that or the temperature diode on the motherboard is reading too high, if it was running at 71°C the thing would lock up and be unstable.

i'm not using anything, but this sounds like teh plan. Ill buy some Th3rmal paste tomorrow and see if that h3lps teh m3h
 
AAhh i just noticed that my rear case fan was not connected! i connected it and the temp went down to 54C within 3 minutes! :rolleyes:
