my computer is screwed up plz help

was playing HL-SP and all of a sudden the game closed for no apparent reason, now i have no toolbar thing at the bottom of my monitor, and the only things i can access are things on my desktop.... on a side note my internet explorer won't even open fully...... whats going on!??!
