I think it needs speech therapy...

Any ways recently computer has developed a stutter with both audio and video, this happens about ever 10 seconds but it varies and it last for less then a second. My original thought was that it was the video card, so I swapped it out for another card I have and that didn't fix it so I tried removing my overclock and that didn't fix it either. I am unsure what the else problem could be, could it be my power supply is going bad.

Q6600@3.6
2gb 1600mhz ram (one stick died and I am waiting for the other kit to get back from rma before I send it out)
Evga GTX 285
Asus Rampage Extreme
2x 500gb drives
1x 640gb drive
Corsiar HX520

I figured out the problem, I pulled the 640gb hdd from the system and it was fine. So I concluded my power supply is just to damn small.

doubt it. what's the voltage on your OC'd Q6600? Even if you were at max 1.5vCore, you shouldn't be pulling more than 450W unless that GTX285 is OC'd.

1.43 but I reset it to stock and that didn't fix it. If thats the case, idk what caused it. All I know is that once I pulled the 640gb drive it stopped.

could be the drive itself. did you run a drive fitness test on it or check its smart status?

I would say hard drive too. The pauses could be it trying to read a bad spot.

This. If you've ever been on a system with read/write errors, you would know the OP's problem first-hand. Even with occasional access errors, it still adds noticeable delays to app load times. And don't even try to copy files - that will try your patience.

Go get a replacement, and save your data while you still can :)

Well thats the last time I trust western digital, The drive was the problem. I backed up all of the data, thanks for the help guys.

I believe that's a little extreme of a measure for one solitary bad drive.

When did you buy it? You may be able to RMA it for a new, working drive -- WD Caviar Blue drives have a three-year limited warranty (that covers defective drives).

I am going to rma it, but this isn't my first bad experience with western digital.
