My computer crashes when i play a game

my computer crashes on nearly every game i play besisdes POP:sands of time, I can get like 15 mins in to halflife 2 and the computer restarts, same with swat 4 and brothers in arms, it doesnt seem to crash in doom3 and all these games are cranked to thier fullest qualitys with great framerates. I know its not the video card becasue i had just bought it to replace my old radeon 9600 because it crashed all the games too. i hav heard to format the hdd and to buy a new psu but i thought to ask people here to get thier opinions, any reccomendations before i take it to a computer shop and pay 60 dollars to get diagnostics, is appreciated.

AMD Sempron 2.15 ghz
ABIT NF7-s2 motherboard w/ nforce chipset
1.5 gigs of Kingston HyperX DDR 400
Antec 300 watt PSU
 
So many things.....

Sounds like temp issue. All stock cooling? Proper case cooling??
Sound like psu issue, but the Antec 300w is sufficient. Whats the rails read?
Are you overclocking?
 
Try another hard drive. I had this sorta problem as well. Could play games fine for a while, but as soon as the page file started to be used by the game, the computer would hard-lock or just restart. Bought a new hard drive (ne'er again, Seagate, ne'er...) and everything is perfect now.
 
the temp is very low in the case i dont kno the exact temp but the cpu temp runs about 47 degrees idle
