This is my My Cable management nightmare lol.

I bought a Corsair 550D and new fans and will clean this up ALOT.

How much lower temps do you think I can get?

Whoa, your PC is being attacked monster octopus. Oh wait, its just your PSUs cables. :D
First we need some info.

What case is that?

Does it have any fans in the front?

Does it have any fans on the side panel?

Edit: thank you for resizing.

What case is that?

NZXT Guardain 921 with the paint starting to chip.

Does it have any fans in the front?
Yes, 1 120MM

Does it have any fans on the side panel?
Yes, 1 120MM

On the new 550D I ordered 5 yate loon 88cfm fans + a controller.

Going to be doing 2 intake 2 side fans and 1 exhaust. Hopefully i'll be able to turn them down lower and have a somewhat quiet pc and able to turn them up when it gets warmer for the few months :)

Rule #1. Thou shalt always use 100% modular power supply. They're inexpensive enough these days that there is no excuse for that rat's nest of cables. Here's a fantastic PSU for $120 that will solve 90% of your nightmare.

Rule #2: Thou shalt use cable clips and cable tie mounts to secure cables to the back side of the case.

Rule #3: Thou shalt single sleeve cables to allow for mounting to back side of case without the side panel bulging out.

If you want to disregard all those rules, just cut whatever wires off you don't intend to use and terminate the ends with heatshrink so you don't accidentally short anything out.

^^

Just to add to that, by "back side of case", it means through holes & gaps in the metal plate the motherboard is mounted to (on a tower case).

Some cases don't allow easy power supply or other cable access behind the motherboard. Having those gaps and having cables routed through them makes airflow through the case much (much) better. Cases without them you should really stay away from. Those with them are not expensive. From your Killer Octopus picture, pclov3r, doesn't look like you have many of those gaps.

So the other two things Modder suggested are advised.

For optimal cable management, however, its advised to get a case that has gaps in the motherboard plate to allow routing of power supply cables. As well as a power supply with modular cables (that allow you to not have plugged-in cables you don't have connected to anything).

(runs away screaming from Killer Octopus)

:D

Kittens cry themselves to sleep every time you leave a rat's nest of cables.

I never run away from killer Octopi.

I bring my wire snips, sleeving materials, tools, bits and bobs and go to war.
