Now, I may be able to go to 470, but for now I'm satisfied. I have temps undercontrol (under 60C and mb temps steady at 45) and my bandwidth is peaked as well as my latencies (I can't get better than 4-4-4-12 at this speed; even at 2.3 volts; but I can do this with stock voltage!)
If I'm thinking correctly, this is probably the best setup (7x460) as it has my memory at it's highest bandwidth possible for me plus running at my highest stable overclock which seems to be around the 3.2 ghz area.
I've pulled the HS off the NB and SB and applied ceramic & as5 (southbridge)...unfortunately I think what's happened is the weight of my big typhoon has warped my mb and that's why my NB temps are as high as they are. I've pulled those off 2x and applied various amounts of AC5 to try to deal with that temp but it never goes over 45 and it seems as though this is as good as it gets. However, I know that the contact on that HS and the NB isn't good at all, just hitting the edges....there's nothing more I can do.
I even put a rubber fish under my MB to try to counter the bow from the weight of the big typhoon and maybe that helps a little. I"ve pulled this MB and re-applied AC5 about 6 times in the last 3 days trying to get the best temps...finally got here and this is about where I was a week ago, sigh.
Anyway, I suggest NOT taking off the NB hs or the sb and leaving that stock, as I was getting better temps before I went through all the trouble. At least I minimized the damage, I'm only about 2C higher than I was before I pulled the nb hs.
I Love you all!
